Tombstone AZ
Today we head into Tombstone Arizona, hoping for a little peace and quiet while visiting a historic place… but, as it turns out, Tombstone is quite the tourist trap much like Fisherman’s wharf in SF. Little of Tombstone-proper exists now, all overrun by tourism and commerce. Heck, you can even pay to watch a real live gun fight (blah). As we walked down the old town street, people dressed in the 1880’s outfit scripted out conversations and even disagreements. This, all in a lame attempt to entertain the tourists. It may not have been so bad if it were not so obviously out of place… give me a Ranger telling my about Wyatt Earp and the history of the town instead of some actor pretending to be Wyatt any day. Unfortunately, the streets had already been paved so even the horse-drawn wagons clipping-n-clopping down the streets sounded out of place. All the store-fronts were overpriced hamburgers and clothing as well.
Anyway… we visited Tombstone Arizona (what ever)
