Take off, eh!
That’s it. Today is the big day to drive the 60 miles North to the border and into Canada. I believe all the paperwork is in order to bring in shotgun and rifle, but it seems the more worrisome contraband is chicken. Poultry, including eggs, seem to be heavily regulated in Canada so we cooked up everything we had last night into two large quiches in hopes that “cooked” poultry and egg will be allowed. If not, the Mounties at the border will have a nice lunch.
One interesting tidbit I found out from my Mother yesterday is that my Father’s family is from Edmonton. We can now add Canadian to the international soup that is me, eh.
Still lots to do this morning so I’m taking off you hoser.
PS – If you have never seen the movie Strange Brew, do so when you have time. It is a classic right there in the level of Caddy Shack. I feel I know everything I need to know about Canada from this one single movie.
Sounds like a great time. Crossing into Canada you might be asked questions the Mounties already know the answers too. The two biggies are; Have you ever been finger printed and/or brought before a judge?
Safe Travels!
All went smoothly crossing the border. Guns & chicken were not an issue, for us. The guys ahead of us (Malimish) had to toss a large mass of uncooked chicken
Be careful you don’t find a mouse in your bottle of Elsinore Beer. That movie was hilarious!
