Rock and Roll in Denver

100_9000Last night I attended my first concert in… longer then I am willing to admit. Even though I bought two tickets (in hopes of finding a date) I ended up selling the extra ticket, which paid for the night’s parking in downtown Denver on a Friday. I got to see my (current) favorite band in concert and enjoyed the sights and sounds of a live concert again. However, the smells did not excite me; I forgot just how much I dislike the smell of marijuana.

I guess I am too old to understand one thing. The kids spent most of the concert staring down at their phones and texting or tweeting about the concert. So much so, that they likely missed the concert all together. What parts of the concert they did “see”, they saw through the display of their smart phone while taking a photo or video. Their eyes never actually seeing the musicians themselves, just the representation of the musicians through an electronic device. Back in my day, you rocked out until your head fell off. Now-a-days it is quite different.

Just as dirty and druggy as you can imagine. I’ve never really like the downtown scene and was all too happy to leave the concert early to get out of there before the crowds.
