Poncho Villa State Park and Columbus, NM
After a few hours of driving East on Hwy 9 we came up on Columbus, NM and the Pocho Villa State Park where camping (with electric & water) was a mere $14 per night. It didn’t take much discussion to agree that a warm shower and a 120v plug was worth the few dollars so we stopped our day’s driving by noon and spent the rest of the afternoon getting some work done on the trailer an cleaning up ourselves as well. Although it was hot, dusty, and the flies are persistent and aggressive, it was nice to stop and relax instead of driving all day.
Get this; Although I have driven more than 2400 miles, I am only 750 miles away from my starting point 2.5 weeks ago.
Tim,
You should have stopped by. The place has changed a little since you stayed here.
Plus, you could have taken a “care package” to Conor. :)
