Planted in Tuscon, AZ

I figured that, since I plan to be on the road much more this year, I will update this blog for family and friends at a more frequent rate. Maybe a few times a week, maybe daily… who knows, but you should get a greater sense of where I am and what I am doing (along with a picture or two to back it up).

Today is 2-months living on the road :-)

Our camp @ Pima county fairgrounds

Today we drove the addition 50 miles from our night parked at a truck stop off I-10 to the Pima County fairgrounds where we have decided to stay a week or two. The fairgrounds turned out to be a great place to unhitch the trailer and spend the extended time. Not only do we have full-time security, the rates are cheap and all utilities are included. We are nearby all the ‘attractions’ of Tuscon, AZ including numerous state parks and the Suguaro National Park (planned for Monday).

This weekend there is a gun-show at the fairgrounds, though I can not think of anything more gun-related to purchase now. There is always something going on at the fairgrounds each week, and even smaller events that may not be advertised in the paper or online; one such thing was last night’s local Horse Jumping competition which I made sure to grab a few pictures of (always looking for something to shoot to justify to cost of this camera).

Mom is looking to rent a car late in the week or on the weekend to drive back into SoCal, so I will be on my own again after that. I may stay in Tuscon another week or head over to Conor’s parents land for a little boondocking for as long as the batteries will allow me. The additional solar panel will extend my stay, but with my laptop battery no longer holding a charge it is requiring more power than I want so all is really up in the air right now.
