Longmont Airport Expo

It almost slipped past me without notice. Not until late Friday did I remember the Longmot Air Expo was in town on Saturday only and I desperately wanted to spend my day outdoors.

I had it all planned out; I would wake early drive to the airport (4 miles away) and park in the best spot I could think of… directly at the end of the runway! It would be envied by all. By 7am I had my awning out and the premium view of all the planes coming and going. Most would taxi within 100 feet of my position for take-off, and their landing approach brought them almost directly over my van. By Noon Imelda and Tim came out with meat and snacks for a proper BBQ lunch at the airshow. Of course, I remembered to snap a few hundred photos, of which these were my favorite:
