Longest day of the year

summerAs it turns out I missed it, the actual Summer Solstice. Officially it was yesterday, the 20th, but here I am on the 21st ready to bring up the first day of Summer. Normally I do not even think twice of the Summer Solstice, instead focusing my attentions on the darkest day of the year (December 21st), which to me means that every day after that gets longer and longer… that is, until today. Today is the longest day of the year, which means every day after gets shorter and shorter until December 21st.

As it were, Summer is upon us and my list of things todo in Colorado this year is continues to haunt my thoughts every day. I have accepted that I will be here another two months before heading North.

PS – A few days ago marked my 8th month living exclusively in the van.
