Kerrville-Schreiner Park
We stumbled into a what turned out to be a fantastic park. Kerrville-Schreiner Park in Kerrville, Texas is what RV camping should be and all for the right price. Sure we could have spent $40 a night and had all the amenities but Kerrville-Schreiner Park also has camp areas in my price range and with the amenities that we needed without all the excess. We had a working bathroom, laundry, and showers as well as electricity and water at the site.
Add to that, the park had trees (something we had not had the luxury of having since leaving California) which meant shade too. The weeks prior had 90+ degree days so shade meant a lot to us. Of course, the weather turned that very day and it hasn’t climbed out of the 60’s… but we have shade. In the summer months there is the river to swim in so if I am ever down in Texas then, I will be sure to drop back into Kerrville.
On Monday I got to utilize the hiking/biking trails in the park which were fantastic! Smooth and well shaded, the trails were awesome to run. I got in my first run in over a week, getting lost twice along the trails (I brought a printed map for that very reason), but after 35 minutes and a few miles of running around, I found my way back to camp. It felt great to get some exercise.
All in all, the park was fantastic. We spent 3 days and 2 nights here before moving further towards San Antonio today… and again we found another gem of an RV park.
