1972 Compact Jr trailer

Mom and I have been looking at another trailer, back and forth, for some time now. While I have continued to regret selling to Nomad last year, it really was too much o a trailer for the van to tow around. So this time we were looking for a lighter, smaller, fiberglass trailer that would be tow-able even by a passenger car or small truck.

Along came Jr… a 1972 Compact Jr with a whopping 60 sq ft of space (the Nomad was 100 sq ft, while the van is 72 sq ft) and weighing in at under 1000 pounds making this the lightest camping trailer known to man (I made that up). The van doesn’t even know it is there and I suspect even my Datsun could pull this thing with little problem.

Another great little feature is the pop-up top; When up, even I can stand up straight. When down, the trailer just fits into a normal size garage, and you can still get in there and move about.

Now, it is time to gut it and do a complete rebuild with the knowledge gained from building up the van over the past year…
