Hawk Creek Campground
Hawk Creek has to be one of the coolest, and cutest, little campgrounds I have ever seen. It has 27 sites (a bit crammed in there), pit toilets, swimming, fishing, hiking trails, and a boat launch… but wait, there is more.
When I came into the campground I drove straight the boat launch. I was considering a dip in the water (no shower for 5 days) until I felt just how cold the water was. It was only when I began snapping a few photos that I saw the main attraction of the area; a dramatic waterfall only a few yards from the camping area. I missed it all together as my back was turned to it when driving to the boat launch. Upon further, and closer, review this little fall seems to take joy in rounding a corner just out of site, bouncing off the far rock wall, then tumbling down two more steps before finally settling into the pool below.
PS – No cell signal here so I was not able to stay. Camping was only $10 per day for summer months and $5 per day after that. If the water was not frigid, Id have been in the pool in a heart beat… maybe next time when it is summer.

Great waterfall pic!
