Gone shootin
All Timmy wanted to do during his spring break was to go shooting. But, with the ammo shortage across the country, it looked as if we were not going to go… but I caved in and we hauled up to the National Forest to do practice what the State run shooting range in New Mexico (my last shooting practice) would not allow; “draw and shoot”.
I taught Timmy how to draw the weapon, present it in a safe manner, and fire a first volley at a target including a tactical reloading. We first spent a good amount of time doing this with a fully unloaded weapon, just to get the mechanics in place before starting to fire live ammunition. We had a few hours of good teaching and fun at the same time. Timmy learned more gun safety while we both got to practice the practical use of a handgun.
Timmy had brought out his GoPro camera and took a nice video of me drawing and firing a 4 round volley, all in 1.7 seconds (including slow motion). I wish I would not default to my monkey-face while shooting, but I am who I am…
