Carlsbad Caverns… not so much
I drove to within a few miles of the Caverns only to turn around and rive nearly all the way back to Carlsbad. I found a dirt road just outside the city limits to hang out for the day and night. Once again, my requirement to be within a Verizon signal has kept me from going where I wanted to go, but today is not a total loss.
The van is carrying more then it ever has before and places I thought were good storage for items turned out not to be so great. Other things were just in the way all the time. Not so any longer as I spent my morning cleaning and organizing the van. Today was the first time I had where I can get organized and it really paid off.
As the sun began it’s set, I whipped out the BBQ and patty’d up (yep, I verb’ed that) a third of my beef for a burger. It is the little things that make the day so worthwhile. This burger and following Coors Light made my day.
Tomorrow afternoon I plan to head into Carlsbad Caverns after my morning work. I did my reading up on the park today and I’m looking forward to a few miles of hiking 750 feet underground.
