Compact Jr rebuild, demolition
Since I am bound to the Colorado area (give or take a state) over the next month or three the rebuild of the Compact Jr trailer has begun.
I do not expect it to be a speedy process, but over the next few months I will be slowly rebuilding the interior of the trailer to better suit my Mother’s needs, specifically a refrigerator and an air conditioner. These two things were the two biggest issues during our trip out to Texas and back last year.
I also plan to simply the kitchen area a bit, eliminating the 3-burner propane stove and replacing it with a portable Coleman stove which will allow 1) outside cooking abilities, and 2) the removal of the large 20# propane tank from the tongue of the trailer.
Today was simply demolition of the interior that we build up last June after purchasing the trailer. We had always known it was not a final build, but instead a platform to test different configurations (not that there is a lot of room in there).
Out came the bed, pantry, and even the kitchen sink. This allowed me to pull up the linoleum to start fresh with only a wood floor and 4 walls which are in need of a repainting before replacing the flooring. Only then can I begin to work on rebuilding the interior with much more care (and skill?) then before.
