Double Boondocking near Overton, NV
As is usual for me, I do not get far on any given day. After leaving my Lake Mead boondocking location, I drove only 48 miles to a pre-planned and common boondocking place that overlooks Overton, NV (map below). It is nothing special in terms of location, but it does have a great view. Unfortunately, it is very well known and always crowded. This was just an over-night spot for me so I parked off away from everyone and left in the morning…
… where I made it only 4 more miles before running into Overton Wildlife Management Area. Here, they allow up to 8 days of camping for free complete with picnic tables and shade. The camping areas – all six of them – are large enough to accommodate even the very large Class-A monsters. Maybe it is just this time of the year, but there is not a whole lot to see, but it is nice to have an ‘official’ place to park for a night or two.
I have noted both areas on my boondocking locations map
