Back in Deming, NM

I arrived in Deming on Thursday, two days ahead of schedule thanks to a lack of places I was willing to camp in the 100 miles between Truth or Consequences and here. I figure, since I drove the extra miles on Thursday, that just meant I had to sit still longer once I got here without incurring extra expenses.

That meant staying two nights at the local Walmart while spending the days at the local park, staying out of the way and getting some work done. Ironically, this is the very same park (Pit Park) that I spent the day working 13 months ago when we ran a big promotion. Knowing ahead of time where I can park, whip out the solar panels, and get some work done is nice. So, in a 36 hour period I hammered out the final stages of the project I have been working on since August… woot!

Today, Saturday the 9th, I get the luxury of paying for my first night this month in a RV park (Sunrise RV park in town… so far not bad at all). For less than $20 I get the night with 120v power, refill my water tanks, shower(s) which I desperately needed, and laundry washed. They even have a little gym here which I may take advantage of later today.

Tomorrow afternoon I plan to roll out towards Arizona again, but it may take a few days for me to cross the border. There are some boondocking areas I’ve been meaning to check out on the way and this is the perfect time.
