2500 days in a single paragraph
It wasn’t that long ago in my mind, but yesterday was exactly 2500 days (almost 7 years) since I started full-time living on the road (I did 20 months of most-time living on the road prior). I recall Dec 28, 2011 very well; leaving Colorado on my way south to get away from the cold of winter. I would go on to spend the next three years of my life exploring the West, seeing dozens of National Parks, start boondocking, getting to know my family and myself a whole lot more, finding a K9 companion along the way, and meeting some great people along the way. Then I met Kerri (nearly four years ago now, wow how time flies… I’ve now been full-timing as a couple longer than when I was single) and fell in love, which I never thought was possible again. She has brought me to the South East, and to Alaska, and Baja. She showed me what Airstream-life was all about, then I stole her away and showed her what van-life is. Finally, on this momentous day – 2500 days of full-time-life later – we have just moved into a sailboat to start a whole new chapter in our lives. If only I could go back to December 28, 2011 and tell myself how frickin’ amazing the upcoming years will be.
